To the Editor:
I quote from President Obama, “When I hear folks say that, well, maybe we should just admit Christians but not Muslims; when I hear political leaders suggesting that there be a religious test for which a person fleeing from a war – torn country is admitted,…that shameful…We don’t have religious tests to our compassion.”
I think the above was part of a speech Obama gave from his native land of Indonesia in mid November.
President was once head of Harvard’s Law Review. He should know better. Maybe he got that position after the Saudis gave Harvard 20 million dollars.
From Andrew McCarthy of NATIONAL REVIEW ONLINE: “Under federal law, the executive branch is expressly required to take religion into account in determining who is granted asylum under the provision governing asylum (Section 1158 of Title 8, US Code”
From WALLBUILDERS, I get this in formation sent to the waiting fingers of Homer r. Dodson, proudly of East Bell Town, Tennessee. They quote from Article 6 of the constitution: “…no religious test shall ever be requited as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.”
There is no religious tests for one running for any office or public trust. That doesn’t mean refugees or folks wanting to come to the United States.
From Rush Limbaugh of November 18, 2015, headline: OUR PRESIDENT DOESN’T KNOW THAT A “RELIGIOUS TEST FOR REFUGEES SEEKING ASYLUM IS REQUIRED BY FEDERAL LAW.”
